Job summary

Major Food Group LLC is seeking an experienced Captain for Dirty French, located at the Ludlow Hotel on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. This role supports a fine-dining service with standing required, and evenings, weekends, and holidays are to be expected. Compensation starts at a competitive hourly rate with tips.

Responsibilities include anticipating guest needs, greeting and seating guests, maintaining table settings and safety, and maintaining menu knowledge and beverage preparation standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in high volume and fine dining restaurants.
• Excellent knowledge of dining room procedures and service functions.
• Professional presentation and positive attitude.

• Inspect dining room, table settings, chairs, floors, proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety.
• Receive and greet guests; assist with seating if necessary.

• Maintain knowledge of menu and presentation standards and sound knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques

Located in the Ludlow Hotel on Manhattan’s storied Lower East Side, Dirty French is an energetic bistro created by the acclaimed hospitality brand Major Food Group and its co-founders Jeff Zalaznick, Mario Carbone, and Rich Torrisi. The restaurant takes its culinary cues from the timeless dishes of the classic French tradition and enlivens them by utilizing modern techniques and bold, thrilling flavors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Anticipate guests’ needs and ensure that service meets/exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable and pleasant dining experience.

Compensation: $11.35 per hour plus tips
