Job summary

Nebraska Capitol Commission is seeking an Electrician to maintain electrical components in the Nebraska State Capitol Building. You will work on motors, VFDs, switches, outlets, lighting, and ballasts, assist with after-hours on-call responses, and help with seasonal snow removal.

Minimum qualifications include Nebraska Journeyman Electrical license or Electrical Contractor license (or eligibility). Driving is required, and the position offers a comprehensive benefits package and career

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Nebraska Journeyman Electrical license OR Electrical Contractor license or eligibility to become licensed in Nebraska.
• Legal Requirements: Current Electrical Contractor license required to obtain electrical permits; current Journeyman license required to perform electrical installation.
• Preferred Qualifications: Licensed electrical contractor, familiar with plumbing, refrigeration and motor maintenance.
• Other: Must have valid driver’s license and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Work on electrical issues in the Capitol building.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as changing filters, helping with events, and assisting on plumbing issues.
• Operate the building automation system.
• All other duties within the scope of the classification.
