Job summary

Entergy in New Orleans, LA seeks a Manager, Capital Projects to lead a dynamic team in delivering a multibillion-dollar capital program focused on transmission and distribution resiliency. You will guide direct, matrixed, and contract resources to achieve schedule and cost targets with high quality.

The role requires an influential leader capable of aligning portfolio goals with regulatory requirements, driving cost efficiency, and delivering results across internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business or related field.
• Advanced Degree preferred.
• 10 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage partnerships with internal/external resources to deliver program results.
• Provide strategic leadership and guidance.
• Oversee the capital portfolio, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategic objectives.
• Lead and mentor a team of project managers responsible for the execution of capital projects within the portfolio.
• Manage program scope, budget, schedule, and risk to deliver superior results.
• Track program costs across contractors to drive cost competitiveness and to ensure the best cost for customers is obtained.
• Establish, track, and report KPIs to measure the success of program execution and portfolio performance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, finance, and operations teams to prioritize capital projects based on business needs and resources.
• Ensure internal/external compliance with regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Foster continuous improvement and innovation in project management processes.
• Provide guidance to direct reports on technical, operational, and strategic aspects of the program.
• Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders at all levels.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to meet program expectations.
• Develop and implement project management frameworks, tools, and methodologies.
• Monitor contractor performance in safety, schedule, cost, quality, and contract compliance.
• Provide coaching to ensure safe behavior and adherence to safety rules.
• Establish/track leading indicators to ensure safety is considered in design and implementation for contractors and team.
• Mentor and build organizational knowledge to achieve program results.
• Lead team to develop and execute projects per corporate standards, policies and processes.
• Ensure team members fulfil responsibilities as required.
• Provide leadership and coordination to internal and external organizations supporting distribution and transmission projects.
• Build relationships with stakeholders including distribution/transmission engineering, Right of Way, and suppliers.
• Lead team in developing construction plans including work sequence, outages and resource needs.
• Coordinate with supply chain for procurement of major materials and vendor selection.
