Job summary

City of Seattle’s Seattle Public Utilities is seeking a Senior Capital Projects Coordinator to lead infrastructure projects improving water, drainage, and wastewater systems. You’ll guide cross-functional teams, manage public investments, and help build a more resilient city with a strong emphasis on equity and RSJI.

The role is housed in SPU’s Project Management and Controls Division, where you translate big ideas into sustainable, impactful results while ensuring projects stay on scope,

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Four or more years of professional project/construction management experience.
• Experience planning and facilitating public meetings; ability to translate technical concepts into clear language.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phase of project delivery—initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing—ensuring projects are delivered in scope, on time, within budget, and to defined quality.
• Monitor performance and support data-driven decisions using earned value management, critical path scheduling, and cost forecasting.
• Collaborate with Utility and City staff, lead diverse project teams, and coordinate with external stakeholders in all project phases.
• Create PMPs, document scope, cost, schedule, risk, and roles; monitor performance and report status to stakeholders.
• Facilitate meetings, maintain action items, manage communications, and negotiate/manage contracts with consultants.
