Job summary

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) in Seattle is seeking a Senior Capital Projects Coordinator to lead infrastructure projects that protect water quality, improve drainage and wastewater systems, and strengthen resilience citywide. You will guide cross‑functional teams and manage public investments to deliver on-time, within-budget results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Four (4) or more years of professional project/construction management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phase of project delivery—initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing.
• Monitor performance with earned value management, critical path scheduling, and cost forecasting.
• Collaborate with Utility and City staff and lead diverse project teams, internal and external stakeholders.
• Create PMPs and document scope, cost, schedule, risk, and team roles; monitor performance.
• Facilitate project meetings and manage communications with stakeholders.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with consultants, including scope, schedule, quality and cost.
• Lead acquisition of environmental, inter‑agency, and local permits and ensure compliance with laws and SPU protocols.
• Lead resolution of complex project implementation issues.
