Job summary

ADM seeks a Project Engineer for the East Plant in Decatur, IL. The role reports to the site Project Engineering Manager and leads design, approval, and construction of capital projects, including AFE lifecycle management and commissioning in partnership with improvement and process technology teams.

The engineer will apply FEL principles, manage multidisciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to engineering standards and procedures across plant operations.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of project/process engineering experience; PSM experience a plus.
• Ability to apply engineering competencies to practical scenarios.
• Experience with design, approval, and construction of capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee capital project design and implementation from inception to commissioning.
• Manage schedules, budgets, and scope; balance resources.
• Prepare AFEs and lifecycle management from creation to capitalization.
• Provide field oversight of equipment and contractor personnel on projects.
