Job summary

ADM in Decatur, IL, seeks a Senior Director, Global Engineering to design and lead a centralized engineering function for safe, reliable capital project delivery across global operations. You will set strategy, governance, and standards while guiding engineering across FEL, FEED, and detailed design stages.

You will mentor diverse teams, manage budgets and resources, and coordinate with operations, procurement, and business leadership to optimize project performance and drive innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; MS/MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive engineering and capital project experience.
• 5+ years of leadership directing global or multi-site engineering organizations.
• Proven success building and leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams across geographies.
• Proven track record delivering complex capital projects using FEL, Stage-Gate, and project governance.
• Extensive experience managing engineering resources, budgets, CAPEX portfolios, and competing priorities.
• Proficiency with Autodesk, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, BIM and related tools.
• Experience leveraging digital technologies and AI-enabled solutions to improve project execution.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and lead a centralized global engineering function for safe, reliable project delivery.
• Set engineering strategy, standards, and governance aligned to business objectives.
• Lead lifecycle engineering across FEL, FEED, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Build integrated engineering services and collaborate with ADM Mechanical for processing equipment.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams across multiple geographies.
• Manage budgets, resources, vendor relationships, and procurement support.
• Drive stakeholder alignment with operations, leadership, contractors, suppliers.
• Identify and implement innovative tools and methods to improve efficiency and project performance.
