Job summary

ADM is seeking a Production Engineer for the Decatur, IL East Plant. The role focuses on improving and optimizing soy protein production processes, contributing to operational excellence and new product development while supporting day-to-day operations around a 24/7 facility.

The engineer will lead improvement projects from concept through start-up, collaborating with maintenance, controls, process, and quality teams, and mentoring colleagues to enhance safety, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of plant operations experience.
• Demonstrated problem solving.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Manage personnel and work across company functions.
• Ability to anticipate challenges and develop options.

Responsibilities

• Identify improvement opportunities and lead focused improvement in their area.
• Identify safety and environmental needs and ensure considerations are included in development and modification of facilities.
• Analyze existing processes for cost savings, reliability, and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with maintenance, controls, process, and quality to plan and develop process improvements.
• Assist in day-to-day operations including shift coverage as needed.
• Train and mentor other colleagues.
