Job summary

Imerys in Sylacauga, AL seeks a Project Engineer to manage capital projects across engineering teams. You will design, plan, and cost projects, develop scopes, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Applicants should have a BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Structural) and at least 5 years in continuous processing environments, plus lean manufacturing experience. Position is full-time, on-site, with Monday–Friday scheduling.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintaining process equipment.
• Strong problem solving, analytical skills, maintenance, and project management.
• Proficiency with standard software tools (Google Sheets, Excel, Word, SAP) and AutoCAD.
• Ability to perform complex engineering calculations.
• Experience contracting with outside vendors and knowledge of environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design, planning, cost and benefit analyses, and project management for capital projects.
• Assist in developing annual budgets and project priority plans.
• Develop project scopes and detailed studies to define requirements.
• Ensure designs and installations comply with codes, regulations, and company standards.
• Prepare detailed project/construction plans aligned with operations, EHS, and quality.
• Support asset reliability initiatives and cost reduction projects.
