Job summary

INEOS Styrolution is seeking a Plant Engineer for our Decatur, Alabama site. You will provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support to Operations and Maintenance, lead troubleshooting and reliability improvements, and drive capital projects from concept through startup.

You will oversee mechanical integrity programs and support turnaround planning with cross-functional teams. A strong background in process manufacturing and safety is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution or equal.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering, project, maintenance, reliability, or chemical manufacturing experience.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, polymer, or other process manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, piping systems, plant facilities, and industrial construction.
• Working knowledge of Process Safety Management principles.
• Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements applicable to chemical manufacturing.
• Ability to develop understanding of Decatur’s manufacturing processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day mechanical engineering support to Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, lead root cause investigations, and implement reliability improvements.
• Support mechanical integrity programs for pressure vessels, piping, and rotating equipment.
• Develop repair, replacement, and improvement strategies compliant with ASME, API, ASTM, NFPA standards.
• Lead site turnaround planning and execution; coordinate resources and budgets.
• Mentor engineers and協/co-op students; collaborate with contractors and vendors.
