Job summary

IMERYS is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital projects at its Sylacauga, AL facility. The role encompasses engineering design, planning, cost tracking, and construction/project management in support of the division's manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering and at least five years in continuous processing and lean manufacturing environments, with strong problem-solving and vendor-management skills. This onsite, full-time position starts January 2026.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Mechanical or Structural required.
• 5+ years in a continuous processing manufacturing environment.
• 5+ years in a lean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop capital budget for the plants.
• Prepare and submit plant improvement and major maintenance projects from estimating, scheduling, design, cost management, and commissioning.
• Supervise and develop project team members for operational performance and skills.
• Collaborate with Production and Process Engineering to test processes and drive cost reductions.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Develop equipment standards to improve reliability and inventory control.
• Develop procurement standards to maximize uptime and on-time shipments.
