Job summary

Jobtailor in Seattle, WA seeks a senior water and wastewater engineer to lead studies, plans, and reports, and to coordinate technical work for pumping, storage, and pipeline projects.

You will manage scopes, budgets, schedules, and client relationships, mentor junior staff, and help win new work while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

This full-time role requires a WA PE license and 6+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering required.
• WA PE license (or obtain within 6 months if out-of-state).
• 6–15+ years with water/wastewater utility projects including planning, design, construction, and testing.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and technologies in water/wastewater engineering design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office; experience with virtual meeting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of water and wastewater studies, evaluations, engineering reports, and comprehensive plans.
• Coordinate development of technical plans, specifications and cost estimates for water and wastewater facilities.
• Use engineering software modeling and analysis tools.
• Research infrastructure technologies and products used in water/wastewater facilities.
• Perform field work including pilot testing, construction observation, startup and commissioning, and facility evaluation.
• Present technical information to clients in person and virtually.
• Develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules; deliver on time and within budget; manage client expectations.
• Grow company with existing and new clients, identify opportunities, and recruit new staff.
