Job summary

CF Industries Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to develop and manage capital projects at the Waggaman complex in Louisiana.

The role covers scope development, cost estimating, AFEs, detailed engineering, MOC, bidding, and execution using in-house or outside resources. Responsibilities include budgeting, scheduling, cost control, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance; coordination with operations, maintenance, safety, and environmental teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET-accredited university required.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in the oil, gas, or chemical manufacturing industry preferred.
• 1+ years of experience with capital project development and/or execution required.
• In-plant experience preferred, whether permanent or periodic temporary assignment.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; able to manage changing circumstances as plant outages move.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, prepare accurate cost estimates and execution schedules and prepare AFE documentation which is timely and well written.
• Budget, design or coordinate design and manage installation of modifications and upgrades to the facility within schedule; contract outside resources as needed.
• Execute approved projects within 10% of approved budgets; prepare PVRs and SCRs as needed.
• Incorporate site EHS requirements into design scopes and seek safer operation improvements.
• Prepare bid packages for outside equipment/services, evaluate bids, and make awards.
• Review construction documentation from outside firms for compliance with specs and operability.
• Develop schedules and cash flow projections; report status to management.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, safety, and environmental teams to meet end-user needs and comply with CF policies.
