Job summary

CF Industries in the United States is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital projects at the Woodward plant, focusing on engineering, planning, and execution. You will manage cross-functional teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget while aligning with operability and reliability goals.

This role emphasizes EHS excellence, project leadership, risk management, and collaboration with Operations and Maintenance to meet safety and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution preferred. Other ABET-equivalent degrees with comparable field experience will be considered. Minimum of 5 years of applicable engineering/industry experience required.
• Experience in project engineering or management position and familiarity with capital project and plant responsibilities; construction focus desired. PMP training/certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of state, local and U.S. Government regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and industry standards.
• Working knowledge of rotating equipment used in operating facilities is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, and presentation) with ability to interact with all levels.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration, with ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates cross-functional teams to ensure overall project success.
• Identifies, recommends, and implements project management best practices using a stage-gate FEL framework and risk management techniques.
• Provides supervision of project field construction work ensuring EHS excellence in all phases of work.
• Leads safety processes and compliance with CF Best Practices/Policies, including PSM and MOC requirements.
• Participates in Process Hazard Analysis and other PSM activities.
• Provides technical support and inspection of new equipment fabrication or refurbishment.
• Leads execution of multiple projects of moderate to high complexity.
• Coordinates and leads Root Cause Analysis and Failure Analysis studies.
• Monitors progress and communicates project status to sponsors and stakeholders.
• Ensures operability requirements are met and targets achieved.
