Job summary

Capital Program Management Inc. in Sacramento, CA seeks a cost accounting/budget analyst to work with program managers and school district financial departments to develop, monitor, and adjust budgets for new construction and modernization projects.

You will assist with accounting reports, write protocols, and prepare training and reporting materials while ensuring accuracy, detail, and timely monthly financial statements for boards and committees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years experience in cost accounting or budgeting.
• Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook.
• Familiarization with school accounting systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Input accounting data into software system following firm protocols.
• Review and analyze invoices from vendors for charges and route for approvals.
• Reconcile financial records between CPM and school district accounting systems.
• Communicate with clients on budgets and transactions for capital projects.
• Work with project managers on construction budgets from development to close-out.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for School Boards and Oversight Committees.
