Job summary

City of Hopewell seeks an experienced administrator to oversee CIP projects, coordinating with City staff, consultants, and contractors. The role includes design criteria preparation, project planning, QA/QC reporting, and staff supervision under general direction.

The position requires a civil engineering or related degree with several years of construction management experience and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field with four or more years of construction management experience.
• Certifications in erosion & sediment control, stormwater management, or related fields within 12 months are required or desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the design, management, and inspection of CIP projects.
• Supervises staff; assigns, directs, trains, and inspects the work of staff; ensures adherence to contracts.
• Develops scope of work, bid components, and special provisions for CIP projects.
• Assists in overseeing the City paving management program.
• Manages RFIs, delays, change orders, and project schedules.
• Prepares IFB packages and coordinates LAP reimbursements with the Purchasing Agent.
