Job summary

State of South Carolina, Department of Administration, Office of Administrative Services, seeks an Accounting/Fiscal Manager I to oversee capital projects accounting in Columbia. You will lead staff, ensure compliance with GASB standards, and prepare year-end closing packages while supporting executive reporting.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and governmental finance experience; familiarity with SCEIS, SAP, and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field and at least two years of governmental finance experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the State's fiscal policies and accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach staff through training and development; streamline workflows.
• Manage full lifecycle of capital and small project accounting from setup to closeout.
• Provide guidance to divisions and support agencies.
• Engage in project account management and monthly reporting for Admin and shared service agencies.
• Perform complex reconciliations of general ledger, budgets, expenditures and assets.
• Back up processing of invoices, deposits, billings, assets, and adjusting entries.
