Job summary

Charleston County is seeking a Project Management Specialist to oversee professional project management and coordination for capital projects and departmental improvements. The role supports projects from planning to completion, coordinating stakeholders, and monitoring schedules, budgets, risks, and deliverables to improve the County’s capital program.

Open until filled; salary range posted is $60,840 to $79,684 annually. Experience with ACC, MS Project, e-Builder, or Procore is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Minimum of one year or more of experience supporting the design and construction of vertical construction projects.
• Experience with project management software such as ACC, MS Project, e-Builder, Procore, or comparable systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, manages, and supports assigned projects from initiation through completion, including collaboration with project managers as needed.
• Develops and monitors project scopes, schedules, budgets, milestones, risks, and deliverables.
• Coordinates activities with County departments, consultants, contractors, vendors, agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Supports capital projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, implementation, turnover, and closeout.
• Monitors project performance, identifies issues and risks, and assists in developing and implementing solutions.
• Reviews, prepares, and maintains project, contractual, financial, technical, and administrative documentation.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field
