Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Capital Project Manager to oversee large-scale transmission, distribution, and infrastructure initiatives in Dayton, OH. This on-site role sits at the core of the PMO, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and safety requirements from planning through construction.

The ideal candidate will have 3–7 years of capital project management experience, a bachelor’s degree, and PMP is preferred. Proficiency in SAP, Oracle P6, and MS Office is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Master’s degree preferred for leadership roles.
• PMP certification is preferred or equivalent.
• Strong experience managing capital construction projects is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi‑million‑dollar capital projects ($5M–$50M+) with full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, cash flows, and risk registers.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure milestones and outages are executed safely and on time.
• Lead procurement planning, scope development, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
• Track and forecast project costs; provide detailed monthly reporting for PMO and leadership.
• Support mentoring and development of junior PMs and contribute to PMO process improvements.
