Job summary

The AES Corporation in Dayton, OH is seeking an intern to join the OH PMO Team and contribute to project planning and execution. You will assist project managers on substation and transmission line projects, supporting schedules, budgets, and reports.

You'll collaborate with engineering, construction, and procurement groups, gain real‑world experience, and enjoy mentorship, flexible scheduling, and development opportunities while pursuing your degree.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management software is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• A willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative in a fast‑paced environment.
• Interest in the electric utility industry and infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers in planning and tracking electric utility projects—focusing on substation and transmission line projects.
• Help prepare project schedules, budgets, and progress reports using tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and procurement teams to ensure materials and resources are in place.
• Participate in site visits to observe construction progress, safety practices, and quality control measures.
• Support documentation for regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and internal reporting.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives by analyzing project data and identifying efficiency opportunities.
