Cooley LLP, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Capital Markets resource attorney in San Francisco. The role supports regulatory updates, client alerts and materials for issuers and investment banks, with emphasis on governance and SEC reporting requirements.
The position emphasizes collaboration with Marketing, Professional Development and IS to enhance knowledge sharing and efficiency across the Capital Markets practice group.
Cooley is a leading global law firm with offices across the US, Europe and Asia. Our clients, ranging from entrepreneurs to emerging companies to Fortune 50 corporations, partner with us on transformative deals, complex IP and regulatory matters and high-stakes litigation where innovation meets the law. As a firm we constantly strive to deliver the highest quality work and superior service on every matter entrusted to us.
Our lawyers are organized into two departments—Business and Litigation—which are further organized into practice groups. Cooley’s Capital Markets practice group has become one of the premier practices in the US and across the globe, consistently in the top 3 law firms representing issuers and investment banks in IPOs, follow‑on offerings and other capital markets transactions. Cooley has also developed one of the most active SPAC and deSPAC practices in the US, complementing our market‑leading work with technology and life sciences companies across the full range of public and private capital‑raising transactions. Given our uncompromising commitment to the quality of work that we produce, remaining on, if not defining, the leading edge of the law in a business and legal environment that is evolving daily, and working efficiently and cost‑effectively, we are intently focused on enabling our practitioners and practice groups to the greatest extent possible. One of the ways that we provide such support is by augmenting selected practice groups with a resource attorney whose overarching responsibility is to enhance our marketing and business development efforts, strengthen the creation and sharing of substantive know‑how, and enable our practicing attorneys to be more informed, efficient and successful. This attorney will not work directly for firm clients and therefore will not bill time.
The Capital Markets resource attorney must be a licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the practice of representing issuers and investment banks in capital markets transactions, as well as a strong understanding of corporate governance and SEC reporting requirements and related matters.
The expected annual pay range for this position is $220,000 - $315,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skill set of the candidate.
