Job summary

Engineering Resource Group is seeking a Quality Engineer to support capital equipment and construction projects for an industrial energy services provider in New Jersey.

You will review vendor quality documentation, develop inspection plans, perform site and vendor inspections, and maintain quality records. Qualifications include a Bachelor's in engineering and at least 2 years in QA/QC, with knowledge of AWS/D1.1, ASME codes, and welding inspection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, QA, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of QA/QC experience in fabrication, industrial, or construction environments.
• Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME B31.1/B31.3, ASME Section VIII/IX, AISC, and NACE.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, weld maps, and inspection documentation.
• Proficiency in dimensional inspection methods and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Review vendor quality documentation and fabricated work against specs.
• Develop inspection/test plans and QC procedures; verify implementation.
• Inspect at vendor sites covering welding, bolting, coatings, and alignment.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain NCRs, logs, and calibration records.
• Lead root cause analyses and drive corrective actions with suppliers.
• Analyze quality data and report defect trends to management.
• Conduct vendor audits and manage the third-party inspection database.
• Coordinate inspection activity with clients, purchasing, and logistics.
• Compile MDR books at project closeout and mentor team on quality.
