Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Quality Engineer to join a heavy industrial equipment team in New Jersey. You will oversee quality assurance activities on fabrication, welding, and assembly of large machinery for infrastructure, power, and petrochemical sectors.

The role emphasizes inspection, documentation, and adherence to standards (AWS, ASME, NACE, API). Strong communication and root-cause analysis skills are essential to drive nonconformances to closure.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2-5 years of QA/QC experience in metal fabrication with welding.
• Familiar with AWS, ASME, NACE, AISC, ASNT, API standards.
• Experience with dimensional inspection and interpreting drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proactive at identifying risks.

Responsabilités

• Monitor supplier manufacturing through inspections and quality records.
• Verify compliance of structural steel, vessels, skids, and equipment with specs.
• Perform or coordinate welding, dimensional, erection, painting, and alignment inspections.
• Develop QC plans and testing procedures for project requirements.
• Evaluate vendor documentation; coordinate corrective actions.
• Investigate quality failures via root cause analysis and track corrective actions.
• Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Review project codes/specs and contribute to design reviews.
• Coordinate vendor inspections with clients, procurement, and logistics.
• Maintain inspection schedules, calibration records, NCRs, OS&D logs, and MDRs.
• Organize quality meetings and distribute minutes; maintain third-party inspection data.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned by QA/QC Director.
