Job summary

Valmet in Appleton, WI is seeking an experienced project manager to lead complex capital equipment projects from intake to warranty. You will be the primary customer contact, coordinating with partners and ensuring contractual compliance, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are met.

The role requires 4+ years of experience, a related technical degree, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel 25–50% as needed. Proficiency with ERP systems and Power BI is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Pulp and Paper Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of industry-related experience.
• Experience leading capital equipment projects with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary customer contact for the entire project scope, coordinating with external partners and maintaining proactive customer relationships.
• Manage contractual obligations, change management, amendments, milestone certificates, and other deliverables per contract requirements.
• Lead project execution by establishing the project organization, coordinating resources, managing schedules, budgets, risks, opportunities, and performance.
• Coordinate activities across Valmet units, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet delivery, quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Monitor project financial performance including forecasts, revenue recognition, customer payments, invoicing approvals, and profitability.
• Oversee site activities before, during, and after installation and commissioning, including warranty follow-up and performance verification.
