Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Technical Project Buyer in Wisconsin to lead the procurement of technical components for paper machine projects. You will work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with Valmet standards.

The role requires reading technical drawings, coordinating supplier bids, and maintaining supplier performance. A demanding yet rewarding environment with opportunities across global projects awaits.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent training.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of procurement and logistics.
• Ability to read technical drawings.
• Knowledge of CNC and conventional machining.
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Analyze sub-assemblies and determine procurement strategy for subcontractors.
• Manage the purchasing process from supplier selection to expediting.
• Support project manager and engineering during equipment manufacturing and assembly.
• Assist with assembly activities and testing in the workshop.
• Provide technical support to suppliers.
• Follow up with suppliers until shipment and manage non-conformances.
