Job summary

Valmet is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex capital equipment projects from order intake through warranty completion. You will act as the primary customer contact, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, and ensure contractual commitments, profitability, and timely delivery.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in engineering, 4+ years of industry experience, fluency in English, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, pulp and paper engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of industry experience.
• Experience leading capital equipment projects with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business, technical, and regulatory documents.
• Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and contractual documents related to project changes.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with customers, colleagues, and management.
• MS Office proficiency; able to learn web-based reporting and ERP systems, including Power BI.
• PMP certifications are an advantage.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel typically 25% and up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary customer contact for the entire project scope, coordinating with external partners.
• Manage contractual obligations, change management activities, contract amendments, milestone certificates, and other project deliverables.
• Lead project execution by establishing the project organization, coordinating resources, schedules, budgets, risks, opportunities, and performance.
• Coordinate activities across Valmet units, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers to meet delivery, quality, cost and schedule objectives.
• Monitor project financial performance, including forecasts, revenue recognition, customer payments, invoicing approvals, and profitability.
• Oversee site activities before, during, and after installation and commissioning, including warranty follow-up and performance verification.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, applicable regulations, customer standards, and Valmet policies.
• Lead project teams to achieve project goals with effective communication, collaboration, and lessons learned.
