Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Capital Construction Manager to lead project management for design and construction initiatives across facilities and right-of-way. You will coordinate with diverse stakeholders to deliver safe, timely, and compliant projects in alignment with Amtrak’s standards.

The role requires extensive railroad construction experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage budgets and schedules while navigating FRA/OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of training, education and relevant experience.
  • 7 years of prior relevant experience required.
  • Extensive railroad industry experience or relevant construction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project management team and dictate required resources for multiple projects.
  • Oversee design, scheduling, budgeting, and cost-control measures per project.
  • Monitor third party contractor progress and serve as primary contact for field operations.
  • Ensure effective utilization of program management staff and labor.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal/external customers to accomplish objectives.
  • Assist with development of scope, schedules, estimates and cost controls.
  • Manage oversight of project budgets and schedules.
