Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Manager, Work Planning, to support long-range work planning and resource coordination for NEC capital projects. The role spans internal coordination with technical managers and external collaboration with stakeholders to ensure project readiness and efficient delivery.

Responsibilities include leading strategic initiatives, regional resource reviews, and organizational change efforts within Capital Delivery’s planning services.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of project management, capital planning, work planning and delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; 7+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project tools like MS Project and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with a growing staff of technical managers across NEC capital projects.
• Lead and manage complex initiatives for short- to long-range work planning and resource allocation.
• Lead quarterly regional resource reviews with Senior Leadership and stakeholders.
• Support organizational change management within Capital Delivery’s planning services.
• Promote collaboration with internal and external partners and ensure guideline adherence.
• Identify process inefficiencies and present improvement opportunities to management.
