Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a senior accounting leader to own capitalization policy, CIP and fixed asset accounting across the pilot plant program. You will define asset classifications, cost allocation, and keep the ledger aligned with project cost data, while supporting audits and scalable processes for future plants.

The role requires on-site presence at the plant and close collaboration with Finance, Engineering, and Operations to ensure capitalization decisions reflect project scope and asset

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years accounting experience with fixed asset and construction in progress.
• Experience building cost allocation methodology and defending it to auditors.
• Experience operating fixed asset and project modules in an ERP system.
• Willingness to spend real time on site at the plant.

Responsibilities

• Define capitalization policy and asset class rules and defend through audits.
• Own the fixed asset and CIP subledger end-to-end, including setup and depreciation.
• Manage cost structure, WBS, and CapEx categories to trace every CIP dollar.
• Run monthly CIP/ fixed asset close and reconcile to the GL.
• Review contractor pay apps and change orders for proper capital treatment.
• Collaborate with AP, Procurement, and Engineering to ensure correct intake coding.
