Job summary

Stanford University Cantor Arts Center is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead operations for the Cantor and Anderson Collection. The role requires on-site presence at Stanford with a hybrid schedule and 24/7 readiness for emergencies, including night and weekend work.

You will manage maintenance, coordinate projects, monitor budgets, and supervise one staff member, while collaborating with diverse campus teams and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years related facilities management experience.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities as affected by department needs.
• Basic knowledge of building engineering (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Analytical skills to analyze and track complex space, equipment, and financial data.
• Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects with competing priorities, meet deadlines and project plans with short- and long-term end dates.
• Ability to interpret planning specifications, documents, working drawings, and related reports.
• Working knowledge of applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Airtable, etc.

Responsibilities

• Serve as property operations / maintenance point of contact for facilities' issues at Cantor and Anderson; initiate work requests, monitor completion; manage maintenance and renovations budget; coordinate and monitor routine maintenance services completion (trash, utilities, custodial, pest control, long-term preservation, inspections, grounds, landscapes, alarms, systems & equipment), suggest metrics, monitor and report related trends.
• Participate in department/unit strategic management, including making recommendations involving short-term planning for facility-type projects and for longer-range programs/projects; providing input into long-range financial, budgeting, and programmatic planning and development; providing input into the development of policies and procedures; interpret and manage policies and procedures for assigned area.
• Complete project coordination by: performing the assigned tasks within department projects; acting as a project coordinator/liaison; and overseeing and executing projects (limited to small, local projects), including their organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation.
• Coordinate communications services (network administration, desktop support, primary troubleshooting, and telephony liaison); provide updates, alerts, notifications to building occupants, including websites, phones; and oversee mailing services, shipping and delivery.
• Supervise one (1) direct report that supports daily operations, the physical environment, and building systems.
