State of North Carolina is seeking an Accounting Technician I to oversee prison canteen operations at Nash Correctional Institution. Responsibilities include inventory control, posting, reporting, and coordination with Trust Fund Accounting to ensure timely payments and audit readiness.

The role requires an Associate degree in Accounting or a HS/GED with two years of accounting experience, with strong Excel and NCFS familiarity preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in Accounting or HS + 2 years accounting experience.
• Knowledge of general accounting practices and Excel is preferred.
• Familiarity with NCFS or similar accounting systems is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Manage canteen inventory and reconcile discrepancies with NCFS.
• Maintain inventory records for offender postage stamps.
• Prepare monthly canteen inventory reports with vendor invoices and variances.
• Maintain compliant financial and operational documentation for audits.
• Coordinate with Trust Fund Accounting for vendor payments and deadlines.
• Oversee movement and distribution of supplies within the prison store.
• Supervise incarcerated workers on canteen details and ensure security compliance.
• Handle canteen refunds and assist with asset reporting to Raleigh.
