Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Cannon Crewmember to operate howitzers and support artillery operations. You will learn artillery tactics, maintain equipment, and work with high-tech weapons systems as part of a tight military team.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training, then seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training. While you learn, you will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard
• Age 17–35
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Conduct wire and radio communications
• Identifying target locations
• Setting, loading, and firing artillery
• Using computers to generate fire direction data
• Operating heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles
• Transporting and managing artillery ammunition
• Maintaining operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
• Participate in reconnaissance operations
