Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking candidates for Cannon Crewmember. You will learn to operate howitzers, perform artillery duties, and support battlefield operations as part of a focused team.

Training path includes Basic Training (10 weeks) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) with a combination of classroom and field instruction, followed by ongoing drill weekends and tuition assistance programs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet physical requirements and pass a physical exam.
• Must be a member of the Army National Guard or eligible to enlist.
• Ages 17–35.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Citizenship requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wire and radio communications.
• Identify target locations.
• Set, load, and fire artillery.
• Use computers to generate fire direction data.
• Operate heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles.
• Transport and manage artillery ammunition.
• Maintain readiness of vehicles and equipment.
• Participate in reconnaissance operations.
