Job summary

The DC Army National Guard seeks a Cannon Crewmember who will ensure the U.S. maintains its battlefield superiority. You’ll be responsible for operating howitzers, conducting communications, and managing artillery ammunition.

This role requires military enlistment, and applicants must be at least a junior in high school or possess a GED. Benefits include paid training, a monthly paycheck, and assistance with education through the Montgomery GI Bill.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conducting wire and radio communications.
• Identifying target locations.
• Setting, loading, and firing artillery.
• Using computers to generate fire direction data.
• Transporting and managing artillery ammunition.
• Maintaining operational readiness of vehicles and equipment.
