Job summary

The Cannabist Company in Vineland, NJ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager by delivering a strong customer and employee experience and driving sales and profitability. The role leads day-to-day operations, supervises staff, ensures compliance with cannabis regulations, and helps grow brand loyalty.

Responsibilities include monitoring sales, managing team scheduling, inventory control, training, and handling guest transactions while upholding safety and product

Qualifications

• Retail management experience required.
• 21+ years old required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Detail oriented, organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of KPIs and financial targets desired.
• Experience with cash handling and POS operations preferred.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Current MED badge or ability to attain one before starting.
• Cannabis industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to drive revenue.
• Supervise store operations, task delegation, and staff scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and company regulations.
• Assist inventory management and conduct regular audits.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with deliveries and counts.
• Resolve inventory discrepancies with Store Manager.
• Lead people leadership activities including payroll, scheduling, and training.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences and educate customers on cannabis products and safety.
• Manage escalated customer issues and maintain knowledge of computer systems.
