Job summary

The Cannabist Company is hiring an Assistant Store Manager in Vineland, NJ to support the Store Manager and drive store performance. You will lead staff, ensure compliance with cannabis regulations, and enhance customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.

Responsibilities include supervising store operations, optimizing scheduling, managing inventory, and coaching employees to deliver exceptional guest service. Experience in cannabis retail and a MED badge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of retail management or supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Detail oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of KPIs and financial targets.
• Experience with cash handling and POS operations.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Current MED badge or ability to attain one prior to starting.
• Cannabis industry experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to drive revenue.
• Supervise the operation of the store and team members, task delegation, and scheduling.
• Ensure all transactions and operations comply with regulations.
• Support inventory management and audits, including end-of-period counts.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with deliveries and reconciliation.
• Address escalated customer issues and maintain brand experience.
• Lead people leadership activities including payroll, scheduling, training and onboarding.
• Educate customers and staff on cannabis products, usage, and safety.
• Maintain knowledge of computer and software systems.
