Job summary

Ohio Department of Commerce in Columbus, OH seeks an attorney to enforce cannabis regulation compliance. You will work with Compliance staff on investigations, handle hearings and appeals, and provide legal direction to inspectors and supervisors.

Eligible candidates must be admitted to the Ohio Bar with at least 18 months of licensing, plus 6 months supervisory experience. Full-time, 8:00am–5:00pm, on-site at Riffe Tower, Columbus.

Qualifications

• Admitted to the Ohio Bar under RC 4705.01; licensed attorney with at least 18 months experience.
• Six months supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory principles/techniques.
• Full-time availability and ability to work within state regulatory environments.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and enforce compliance with cannabis control regulations.
• Handle hearings and appeals
• Provide in-house counsel direction to inspectors and supervisors
• Liaise with the Attorney General’s office to prosecute cases
• Assist in preparing Notices of Violation, administrative charges, settlement agreements, and corrective action plans
