Job summary

Tennessee Oncology, a leading community-based cancer care network, seeks a Scheduling Coordinator to manage complex patient appointments across clinics, referrals, radiology, and procedures. This role coordinates multiple parties to improve scheduling efficiency and patient experience.

You will handle phone coverage, tasks, and portal requests while following SOPs, maintaining accurate EHR records, and ensuring confidentiality. Travel to other clinics may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Electronic Medical Records experience strongly preferred.
• 2 years of professional office experience with customer service required.
• Experience with electronic medical scheduling preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Windows and MS Office; good verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones and greet patients; route calls to appropriate departments.
• Follow SOPs to standardize processes across clinics.
• Conduct patient check-out workflow; schedule details.
• Schedule internal and external appointments including radiology and procedures.
• Run daily reports to identify unscheduled orders and manage referrals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate EHR documentation.
• Travel to other clinics as needed to support scheduling.
