Job summary

The University of Nebraska System in Lincoln, NE seeks a Wireless Network Technician to support the NU wireless network daily, troubleshoot issues, assist with installations, site surveys and network documentation. You will contribute to campus projects and building layouts.

Qualifications

• Two years post-secondary coursework or equivalent
• 2 years in a medium/large multi-site production networking environment
• Proven diagnostic skills
• Experience with setup, configuration, and operation of Windows & MAC operating systems
• Knowledge of Ethernet networking concepts
• Familiarity with 802.11 wireless technologies (802.11N/ac/ax)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Day-to-day support, operation and maintenance of the NU wireless network
• Troubleshooting problems and assisting with installation of components
• Designing building layouts, implementation plans and site surveys
• Developing and maintaining wireless networking documentation and procedures
• Providing assistance and support with campus network projects
