Job summary

Dartmouth College is seeking a Waste Management Worker to support collection, sorting and disposal of waste and recycling on campus in Hanover, NH. The role involves operating compactors and other equipment, with a 40-hour week, Sat-Wed, 6:30am-3:00pm, onsite only.

Under minimal supervision, the worker may assist with snow removal and event setup. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, plus 2+ years of relevant experience and DOT/ hearing tests.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalency required.
• 2+ years relevant experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain medium/small equipment.
• Must pass DOT physical and annual hearing test.
• Willingness to complete Driver Safety, Forklift Operator, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Spaces and Hazard Communication trainings.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of often strenuous physical tasks related to waste and recycling collection and disposal.
• Supports snow and ice removal as needed and assists with moving furniture/equipment for events.
• Operates medium and light equipment including compactors in confined locations.
• Works under supervision but can perform tasks autonomously when trained.
