Under minimal direction from supervisory staff, performs a wide variety of often strenuous physical tasks associated with the collection, sorting and disposal of waste and recycled materials from the Dartmouth campus. In support of departmental operations and on an as-needed basis also performs snow and ice removal and labor-related activities including movement of furniture, equipment and supplies to various locations and providing support for set-up and take-down of events on campus throughout the year. Must be capable of proficiently operating a variety of medium and light equipment. This specifically includes the safe operation of compactor and other trucks associated with the collection and transport of waste and recycling in constrained locations as well as the operation of fixed compactors.
