Job summary

Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH is seeking an Unattended Retail Associate to operate and maintain the Dartmouth Dining vending program. The role includes stocking, cleaning, and servicing Smart Coolers and cafe equipment while ensuring food safety and friendly service.

You will travel between campus units for stocking, inventory management, and deliveries, while interacting with students, faculty, and staff. This onsite, union‑position requires reliability and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of general food service experience.
• Must qualify as a Dartmouth Approved Driver.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operation and make decisions under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to shift attention to changing details.
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations and ability to obtain a sanitation certification (ServSafe).
• Knowledge of computer operations and familiarity with remote/mobile data terminals.
• Commitment to a positive work environment and teamwork.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed or directed.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Stock Smart Coolers with fresh products according to planograms and inventory levels.
• Rotate stock to ensure FIFO freshness and remove expired items.
• Maintain neat, organized product presentation for customers.
• Monitor product levels and report low inventory or stock-outs.
• Record restocking data using mobile reporting tools.
• Assist in monthly/annual product inventories.
• Receive and verify inventory shipments; check counts and inspect for damage.
• Perform cleaning of cooler interiors/exteriors and sanitize surfaces.
• Troubleshoot basic cooler issues and report complex ones.
• Update planograms and stock pars using mobile tools.
• Visit units daily/weekly to restock and deliver products.
• Drive company vehicles between locations for deliveries.
• Interact with students, faculty, and staff to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Follow safety protocols and promote inclusive culture within the team.
