Job summary

The University of Maine System seeks a Director of Campus Technology to provide strategic and operational leadership for technology services at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. This role translates campus goals into practical technology strategies, services, and resources.

The Director will lead campus IT staff, oversee service delivery, and coordinate responses to significant technical incidents, collaborating with UMS IT to align priorities with system-wide strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with leadership experience.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in mid-to-senior IT roles.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise technology environments including networking, data communications, telecommunications, hardware, and software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop employees and guide teams toward organizational goals.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
• Collaborative and transparent leadership with strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain relationships with campus leadership and IT partners to align strategy and services.
• Consult with campus leaders to identify needs and coordinate improvements.
• Oversee campus IT services including academic, administrative, and research tech.
• Lead campus IT staff, including performance management and development.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and develop solutions with UMS IT.
• Provide executive-level reports and KPIs related to Tier 2 support and service delivery.
• Coordinate campus response to significant incidents and disruptions.
• Participate in IT leadership activities to advance priorities and service improvements.
• Develop budget requests and monitor technology budgets.
