University of Maine System seeks a Director of Campus Technology to provide strategic and operational leadership for technology services at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. This role translates campus goals into practical technology strategies, services, and resources.

The Director will lead campus IT staff, strengthen service delivery, and coordinate responses to significant technical incidents, balancing campus needs with System-wide IT strategy.

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in mid-to-senior level information technology roles.
• Broad knowledge of enterprise technology environments, including networking, data communications, telecommunications, hardware, and software systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop employees and guide teams toward organizational goals.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, negotiation, and conflict management skills, including the ability to explain complex information to varied audiences.
• A collaborative and transparent leadership approach, strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Build and sustain relationships with campus leadership, faculty, staff, students, and IT partners to align strategy with campus needs.
• Consult with campus leaders to identify technology needs, evaluate options, and coordinate solutions.
• Oversee campus IT services and promote efficient, customer-focused service delivery.
• Lead, coach, and develop campus IT staff, including performance management and training.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and coordinate across UMS IT to deliver solutions.
• Provide executive reports and KPIs related to Tier 2 support and service delivery.
• Coordinate campus response to significant incidents and disruptions.
• Participate in IT leadership activities and campus committees to advance priorities.
• Develop budget requests and monitor technology budgets; represent IT externally.
• Maintain compliance with university and IT standards and stay current on service management practices.
