Job summary

SST Schertz Early Elementary is seeking a Teacher Fellow to provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent and to support campus-wide duties. This role acts as a talent pipeline for future teaching openings within the district, reporting to Human Resources and working within the campus environment.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or active pursuit) and eligibility to enroll in a teacher certification program, with non-exempt status and a 193-day work schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required (or actively pursuing degree).
• Eligible to enroll in a teacher certification program.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction based on provided lesson plans and learning objectives.
• Cover classrooms campus-wide when the assigned teacher is absent
• Manage student behavior and classroom routines
• Take attendance and complete required documentation
• Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and campus leadership.
• Work collaboratively with experienced teachers to strengthen instructional planning and classroom practices
• Communicate with administration on coverage needs
• Attend required staff meetings and professional development
• Step into full-time teaching roles as openings arise
• Perform any other duties as assigned
