Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE is seeking a Temporary Campus Store Team Member to support daily operations and deliver an exceptional retail experience. You will greet customers, help locate materials, and maintain a welcoming, organized sales floor during periods of increased activity.

This temporary role offers varied weekly hours for up to 90 days, with on-site operations and opportunities to gain hands-on experience in a college bookstore environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by greeting customers, answering questions, and providing friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Assist customers in locating course materials, school supplies, apparel, gifts, convenience items, and other merchandise that best meets their needs.
• Operate the point-of-sale system to accurately process transactions, including cash, credit, and financial aid purchases.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor through merchandising, replenishment, recovery, and housekeeping.
• Support daily store operations by assisting with inventory, receiving merchandise, order fulfillment, and other operational tasks to keep the store customer-ready.
• Develop product knowledge by staying informed about merchandise, promotions, store services, and course materials to confidently assist customers.
• Work collaboratively with teammates to accomplish daily priorities while adapting to changing business needs in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and organized store environment that reflects the Barnes & Noble College brand and delivers an exceptional customer experience.
