Job summary

Barnes & Noble College in Charleston, SC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead the campus store alongside the Store Manager. You will drive daily operations, coach a diverse team, ensure a superior customer experience, and support sales performance with a hands-on leadership approach.

The role requires 2–3 years in retail with supervisory experience, proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead daily store operations and customer service on the sales floor
• Partner with Store Manager to oversee daily operations as Manager-on-Duty when needed
• Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and develop store team members
• Drive sales and operational performance by analyzing trends and controlling expenses
• Develop relationships with customers and campus partners while resolving issues professionally
• Support merchandising, inventory management, and store presentation across departments
