Job summary

BARNES & NOBLE COLLEGE in Fort Worth seeks a Part-Time Supervisor to lead daily store operations and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This frontline role works with the store leadership team to coach staff and ensure execution of priorities while maintaining a welcoming retail environment.

The position supports opening/closing, staff supervision, and top-to-bottom operational excellence with varied weekly schedules year-round.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 2+ years retail experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service and coach staff.
• Ability to work varied schedules including evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example on the sales floor, delivering outstanding customer service while coaching team members.
• Assist with opening/closing responsibilities and act as Manager-on-Duty when assigned.
• Assign work, monitor progress, and ensure daily priorities and standards are met.
• Maintain knowledge of all store departments to assist customers and support operations.
• Resolve customer questions with professionalism and escalate when needed.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members and reinforce policies.
• Assist with merchandising, inventory, replenishment, POS transactions, and other store operations to meet goals.
• Promote standards by supporting safety, loss prevention, and a clean store environment.
