Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail experience with leadership, supervisory, or buying experience preferred, or completion of the Barnes & Noble College Aspiring Leader Program
• Demonstrated experience recruiting, coaching, developing, and motivating team members
• Experience with retail operations including merchandising, inventory, customer service, and sales performance

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operations of an assigned department to deliver exceptional customer service and drive performance
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop department team members
• Partner with store leadership to support overall store operations and serve as Manager-on-Duty as needed
• Lead merchandising, inventory management, visual presentation, and workload execution to ensure product availability and operational excellence
• Analyze department performance, sales trends, and metrics to forecast needs and achieve results
• Champion company initiatives, safety, and loss prevention while ensuring compliance and a safe environment
