Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point is seeking a Stocker for the Lower DeBot Marketplace on a student hourly basis. The position supports inventory, shelf display, and customer assistance within UWSP dining operations.

Applicants must be part-time students enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits, in good academic standing, and able to lift up to 60 lb. The role includes mandatory trainings and a probationary period.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per week.
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist and lift items weighing up to 60 lb when storing, stocking and handling products and/or inventory items.
• All applicants must be at least a part-time student (enrolled in at least 6 undergraduate or 5 graduate credits) and be in good academic standing (GPAs 2.0+).
• Applicants must pass a criminal background check (only criminal activity directly pertaining to the position description will be evaluated).
• Successful applicants must pass UWSP mandatory trainings along with department-specific trainings (food handling) as part of onboarding.
• Eight-week probationary period with performance evaluation affecting future employment.

Responsibilities

• Unpack and store merchandise in an orderly and accessible manner.
• Stock shelves, racks, coolers, bins with new or transferred merchandise.
• Answer customers’ questions and advise on merchandise selection.
• Clean display cases, shelves and aisles to maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Receive and count stock items and record data.
• Keep records of damaged stock and dispose of damaged/defective items or return to vendors.
• Set up advertising signs and displays to attract customers and promote sales.
• Take inventory or identify items to be reordered or replenished.
• Follow reporting procedures if theft is observed.
• Attend mandatory staff meetings and complete onboarding trainings.
